Mazda is always my interesting Japanese car. When I was a child in Chonburi Province and I rode Mazda passenger cars many times. Mazda Familia, the little pick-up truck that had been modified to the passenger car (the locals called it : 2-row taxi). Its soft suspension system which was gliding on the hard dirty country roads of Sri Racha District, 50 years ago, was so reliability. And when I had to go to Chantaburi Province in 1969, seeking for my job, I depended on its local on demand taxi car, Mazda Familia, I paid for any baht per trip, acceptable price. Well, I was impressed with Mazda cars especially its smooth suspension.

I was familiar with it since my childhood at Chonburi.
It was famous for its toughness and reliability (my opinion)

The amazing on-demand taxi in Chantaburi Province, Mazda Familia Pick-up Truck, has been used till now.

Instead of tricycles , they use Mazda Familia in the city.

Another version of Mazda Pickup Truck,  Mazda B1500 BUA61that had been modified for passengers when I was a teenager.I felt that it was very tough and true horse-work vehicle that day.

Mazda 2, accelerated by Thailand 1st Car Policy

When Pheu Thai Party won the Generation Election in 2011 and  Yingluck Shinawatra as Thailand's first female prime minister ran the "1st car policy". Because she had been a successful business administrator, so the policy was expected to ignite the supply chains of the World Class Car Industry of Thailand, finally it was OK. The 1st car policy of PM Yingluck, with production tax reduce up to 100,000 baht, was  reserved for only pick-up cars and other small subcompacts assembled in Thailand. This kind of policy had been used in Japan some years ago and it was successful.

So, PM Yingluck and her staff rearranged and it worked!!. Mazda 2 could gain the benefit of the policy although it was not so popular like Honda City and Toyota Vios. Wherever I love to watch Mazda 2 Hatchback and feel that Mazda automaker has more and more specialized for this style of car.

Mazda 2 was upraised by the 1st Car Policy of Yingluck's Government.
The B-segment subcompact with 1.5 litre engine Mazda 2 Hatchback  is interesting one.

MAZDA  CX-5, the Hot Crossover car in Thailand

Today Mazda CX-5 is my interesting Sports Utility Vehicle. When the CX-5 had been shown at Tesco-Lotus Suphanburi Superstore, I could see its good appearance. Then at the parking area of the superstore I have seen the CX-5 cars of the unknown customers passing by. What its price is so very high, up to 1.6 million baht. So, I can only see and admire it as my dream SUV car. Anytime I see it on the road I say to myself : "so attractive it is!".  I have learned that the CX-5s seen in Thailand have been assembled in Malaysia, yes they depend on the benifit of AFTA. So its imported tax is zero.  If not the duty free it is, its price should surely rise to more than 2 million baht.

Interior design of Mazda CX-5 is not so luxury but interesting.

I am impressed with its wide and extended space.
The rear great capacity appears when 2nd row seats is folded.
